Agave beer is brewed like traditional beer using barley and hops — with raw agave nectar added during the brewing process.

Agave has been used in fermented drinks in Mexico for centuries. ZAPO brings that heritage into modern craft brewing.

The result is a smooth, crisp beer with subtle caramel notes from raw agave nectar.

The Agave
Story

Inspired by the ancient Zapotec culture of Oaxaca — among the first to craft fermented drinks from wild agave — ZAPO Agave Beer celebrates a long tradition of craft and community.

Agave, long considered a sacred "plant of life", is a hardy, slow-growing North American succulent that, when baked, produces an elegant nectar.

We add this raw Wild Blue Agave (Tequilana Weber) nectar early in the brewing process, resulting in a balanced beer that is golden-blonde in color and light-bodied. This classic cream ale finishes crisp, with a hint of caramel.
